ARTDOCFEST RIGA

Director Filip Remunda repeatedly heads with his camera to the Ukraine. His family roots and a close relationship with the local people allow him to peer into their personal and family lives and through them, reflect the situation in a society divided by opinion and politics. The story of a family, part of which lives in eastern Ukraine and the other in Kiev, is emblematic. Distant relatives are no longer able to find common ground on what is actually happening in their country. During his travels, the filmmaker finds himself behind the front lines, chronicling the lives of the population in the territories controlled by separatists. Weariness of a protracted war is visible on all sides, but the question of when the conflict will end remains unanswered.
